Dell Technologies: Event Hospitality Across OneJourney & HackTrick
A recurring relationship spanning a 450-guest Egypt-meets-Texas employee celebration, a 700-guest Pharaonic employee edition and two HackTrick university-hackathon dates — each with a different food and service logic.
- RELATIONSHIP: 2023–2024
- ONEJOURNEY 2023: ~450 GUESTS
- ONEJOURNEY 2024: ~700 GUESTS
- HACKTRICK: 300 + 150
A recurring relationship across very different briefs
LOriental's first Dell Technologies engagement was OneJourney on 8 March 2023, Dell Egypt's annual employee celebration. The success of that event led to another OneJourney the following year, followed by two HackTrick catering dates in March 2024.
The relationship spans two very different formats. OneJourney centered on identity and employee celebration. HackTrick required practical, long-day hospitality around a university student technology hackathon. The food, service rhythm and visual treatment changed with the objective each time.
OneJourney 2023: Egypt meets Texas
The first brief connected two places central to Dell's identity: Egypt, where the company had built a major operating presence, and Texas, where Dell was founded.
LOriental developed a 450-guest Apéro Dînatoire around that idea. Cowboy-dressed waiters, a themed bar, cacti, bandanas and Texan details carried the concept into the service environment, while Dell branding appeared on selected tray displays.
The menu blended Egyptian street food and family classics with American and Southern references. Examples included Alexandrian liver nachos, koshari bites, chicken shawarma tacos, mombar bonbon, beef fatta towers, hawawshi sliders, mac-and-cheese bel béchamel and rokak bel lahma cones.
OneJourney 2024: a new creative language for the annual event
Dell returned for OneJourney on 15 February 2024, this time for approximately 700 employees at its New Cairo premises. LOriental proposed a new Pharaonic and Egyptian creative direction for the second edition.
The service combined finger food, beverages, a six-meter curved digital bar, Egyptian-inspired hot and cold pass-arounds, desserts and live mixology. Menu items included koshari bites, vine-leaf bites, mombar bonbon, Circassian chicken arancini, pigeon-infused meammar rice cakes, balady mini hawawshi, date-mousse konafa and baklawa.
The second annual event was deliberately redesigned around a new creative language.
HackTrick 2024: hospitality built around a competition schedule
Dell's next brief changed the operating rhythm completely. HackTrick 2024 was a university-student technology hackathon running from 1 to 8 March, with teams from universities across Egypt competing through programming and machine-learning challenges.
1 March — 300 participants: hot-drinks bar and light refreshments during the competition day.
8 March — 150 guests: closing event with breakfast, snacks, lunch, dessert and beverages.
The closing menu included hotdog rolls, pide, quiche, oriental sausage, croquette, chicken shawarma, mini burgers, fatayer, vine-leaf bites, mini pizza and desserts.
The service followed the competition rhythm: light support during the active competition day, followed by a fuller breakfast, snack, lunch, dessert and beverage structure for the closing event.
Three briefs, three different hospitality models
Across the relationship, each brief called for a distinct solution. The 2023 OneJourney used narrative fusion and visual styling. The 2024 edition scaled employee hospitality to around 700 people with a new Egyptian language. HackTrick called for practical support around a university student technology competition.
That progression is the strongest proof in the case: brand familiarity was preserved while the food, service rhythm and guest experience were redesigned around a different internal objective each time.
What the repeat relationship proves
Dell became a recurring corporate client after the first OneJourney. LOriental then delivered the next annual employee celebration and both HackTrick catering dates.
The result is a compact record of repeat trust across large employee celebrations, experiential food-and-beverage service and technology-event hospitality — with each brief requiring a different kind of execution.
