Event Spaces Inside Prince Muhammad Ali Palace
Current venue information supplied by Konouz identifies four event spaces inside the palace complex. Their capacities and permitted formats differ, so the space should be selected before the catering plan is built.
Golden Hall
The palace’s formal indoor event space. For Katb Ketab, the listed capacity is up to 170 guests; for Mini Weddings and full weddings or events, it is up to 150 guests. Its scale and interior make it best suited to controlled, formal hospitality rather than a large catering footprint.
Pergola
An outdoor garden setting with a base capacity of 150 guests and a listed maximum of 300 guests where the venue allows the larger guest count. It is available across Katb Ketab, Mini Wedding and full wedding or event formats.
Private Museum Courtyard
A courtyard setting for more intimate events, with a listed capacity of up to 150 guests. Current Konouz information includes it for Katb Ketab, Mini Weddings and full weddings or events.
Historic Garden / Ancient Tree Area
The largest of the listed Manial Palace event spaces. Katb Ketab information lists a 150-guest capacity. Mini Weddings and full weddings or events can start at 300 guests and extend to a listed maximum of 800 guests, subject to the venue’s current approval and operating conditions.
Which Space Fits Which Event?
For an intimate Katb Ketab, the Golden Hall, Pergola and Private Museum Courtyard all keep the event compact; the Historic Garden / Ancient Tree Area gives the ceremony an outdoor setting. Mini Weddings work particularly well in the Golden Hall, Pergola or Private Museum Courtyard at smaller guest counts, while the garden can carry a much larger celebration. For a full wedding or major event, the Pergola and garden offer the most room to scale, while the Golden Hall remains the strongest formal indoor choice.
Current Event Rules to Know
- Katb Ketab: Sunday to Wednesday only; three hours starting at 5:00 PM; finger food only; soft music only; no dancing or entrance procession; no alcohol; no fireworks; same-day setup only.
- Mini Weddings: four hours, starting at 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM; alcohol is not permitted; same-day setup is included. A separate setup or dismantling day is available under the venue’s current conditions.
- Full Weddings & Events: six hours, starting at 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM; alcohol is not permitted; full same-day setup applies. A separate setup or removal day is available under the venue’s current conditions.
- Tourism Police requirements apply. The current Konouz information directs clients to confirm the applicable Tourism Police process and fees in advance.
Venue rules, capacities, schedules and approval requirements can change. Reconfirm the exact conditions for the event date before contracting or finalizing the catering plan.
What Works Best Here
The event format should drive the catering. Katb Ketab is straightforward: the venue currently permits finger food only, making LOriental’s canapés and passed service the natural fit. Mini Weddings allow a fuller hospitality journey, with reception canapés, Experiential or selected Theatrical Passaround, beverages, desserts and a main meal format designed around the booked space. Full weddings and larger events can support a broader service plan where access, preparation areas and venue rules allow it.
The difference between a 150-guest courtyard and an 800-guest garden is operational, not cosmetic. Service distance, replenishment, guest circulation and back-of-house requirements change completely. Designing around the confirmed space produces a better event than forcing the same catering package into every part of the palace.
Recommended LOriental Catering Formats
- Finger Food & Canapés — the required food format for Katb Ketab under the current venue rules, and a strong reception base for other events.
- Experiential Passaround — premium mobile service for the Golden Hall, Pergola, courtyard and garden settings.
- Theatrical Passaround — our most premium passed format; best used selectively so the presentation works with the palace rather than competing with it.
- Open Buffet & Seated Dining — consider for Mini Weddings, full weddings and events where the booked space, access and current permissions support a larger meal.
- Live Culinary Stations — best considered for the larger outdoor spaces where equipment, utilities and guest flow can be properly managed.
- Non-Alcoholic Live Bar & Mixology — suitable for welcome and continuous beverage service; alcohol is not permitted under the current Konouz event rules.
- Desserts & Sweet Experiences — passed, displayed or live finishes depending on the event format and approved setup.
Planning Catering Around the Palace
Start with the exact booked space, event category and guest count. Then confirm loading and staff access, preparation area, utilities, furniture and equipment rules, protected surfaces, setup window, parking arrangements, security procedures and any Tourism Police requirements. A plan for the Golden Hall should not be copied into the garden, and a 150-guest Pergola event should not be operated like an 800-guest garden wedding.

Important Venue Note
LOriental Moments is an independent caterer and does not own, manage or represent Prince Muhammad Ali Palace.
